Teaching Personnel are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Blackburn that is looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in EYFS with additional needs and challenging behaviour on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who have experience working with children with special educational needs, challenging behaviour, or a background as a Child Support Worker, Care Worker, Residential Support Worker, or Teaching Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Supporting children in EYFS with a range of additional needs
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
- Helping pupils to access learning and reach their full potential
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN and/or challenging behaviour
- Child Support Worker, Residential Support Worker, Care Worker, or Teaching Assistant experience considered
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Passionate about making a difference in children's lives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
