1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD) – Year 2
Location: Blackburn
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a caring, patient and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) . This role involves providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom , helping the child to access learning, develop social skills, and engage positively with school life.

Hours:

• 3 full days and 2 half days per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to meet the child’s individual needs

• Support learning activities within the classroom and during transitions

• Assist with social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies

• Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children in a classroom setting (essential)

• Experience working with children with ASD or additional needs (desirable)

• A calm, nurturing approach and strong communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
