Are you a confident and resilient Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?
Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a specialist provision in Salford supporting Key Stage 3 pupils (ages 11–14).
This setting works with students who have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have been permanently excluded from mainstream education and require additional support to re‑engage with learning.
The Role
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students overcome barriers to education, build positive relationships, and achieve their personal and academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students within the classroom and during interventions.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
- Assist with personalised learning activities and engagement strategies.
- Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and SEN needs.
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a supportive and professional manner.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
