Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons, adapting activities and resources where needed.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support emotional regulation, behaviour management and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral and SEN teams, contributing to individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment that helps students grow in confidence, resilience and independence.
Requirements
  • A degree in any subject—Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Sport, English and Science graduates are particularly encouraged.
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication, patience, empathy and resilience.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
