Role Overview: We are looking to appoint a confident and dependable Cover Supervisor to join a supportive Secondary School in Rye. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people who are seeking to gain hands-on classroom experience. In this role, you will supervise classes during short-term staff absences, ensuring students stay focused, engaged, and adhere to the school’s behaviour expectations.
Key Duties:
- Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and instructions
- Maintain a calm, positive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Manage student behaviour in line with school policies
- Offer guidance and support to students where required
Person Specification:
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- A professional, flexible, and confident approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
