The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to lead the mixed Year 3/4 class. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, create a positive learning environment and support pupils to make strong progress across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. The role includes contributing to the outdoor learning and Forest School provision, using the outdoor environment to enrich the curriculum and support pupils’ personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced lessons that reflect a broad and ambitious Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and those requiring additional support for both lower attainment as well as high attainment
  • Use formative and summative assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future planning
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and presentation, implementing school processes and policies

Daily Classroom Responsibilities

  • Establish clear routines and maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in core subjects and the wider curriculum
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning activities
  • Provide timely feedback to pupils in line with school assessment policies
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants to support pupil learning
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to pupil progress discussions
  • Communicate effectively with parents/ carers regarding learning and wellbeing

Outdoor Learning and Forest School

  • Plan and deliver regular outdoor learning opportunities that enhance the curriculum, utilising an incredible outdoor learning space
  • Support the development of the school’s Forest School programme
  • Encourage teamwork, resilience and problem-solving through outdoor activities
  • Ensure outdoor learning experiences are safe, inclusive and purposeful

Wider Professional Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school priorities
  • Contribute to staff meetings, planning and professional development
  • Participate in school events, trips and extracurricular activities
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion policies
