About the Role

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with many Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools in Tunbridge Wells. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with SEND.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development
  • Supporting with personal care where required
  • Working collaboratively with school staff and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEND (school or care setting)
  • Are patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Are flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) or are willing to work towards one
  • Experience within an SEN or specialist setting is desirable, but we also welcome applications from individuals with relevant care or support backgrounds.
