Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a passionate Teacher to support a special provision for SEND in Rochdale. The school has young people from the ages 11 – 18, who have complex needs involving autism, pragmatic language and a combination of physical, sensory, cognitive and communication difficulties. The school has a wide range of different facilities and equipment that help support their pupils' regulation and engagement in different provisions.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualised lessons and interventions supporting the needs of each pupil.
- Be confident in working collaboratively and leading a team of teaching assistants.
- Monitor, track and regularly provide feedback regarding pupils' progress.
- Advocate a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Regularly meet with schools SENCO staff and other teachers to develop individual learning plans.
- Promote independence and social, emotional and academic achievements.
- Regularly communicate with parents, carers and external agencies to provide a holistic approach.
Essential Requirements
- Be a fully qualified teacher with QTS and PGCE.
- Have experience working with special needs in another role where skills are transferable.
- Be comfortable adapting your teaching to be inclusive to all students.
- Be confident in leading a team of teaching assistants.
- Be able to provide feedback to relevant school staff and parents.
- Be available full time.
