Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a passionate Teacher to support a special provision for SEND in Rochdale. The school has young people from the ages 11 – 18, who have complex needs involving autism, pragmatic language and a combination of physical, sensory, cognitive and communication difficulties. The school has a wide range of different facilities and equipment that help support their pupils' regulation and engagement in different provisions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver individualised lessons and interventions supporting the needs of each pupil.
  • Be confident in working collaboratively and leading a team of teaching assistants.
  • Monitor, track and regularly provide feedback regarding pupils' progress.
  • Advocate a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Regularly meet with schools SENCO staff and other teachers to develop individual learning plans.
  • Promote independence and social, emotional and academic achievements.
  • Regularly communicate with parents, carers and external agencies to provide a holistic approach.

Essential Requirements

  • Be a fully qualified teacher with QTS and PGCE.
  • Have experience working with special needs in another role where skills are transferable.
  • Be comfortable adapting your teaching to be inclusive to all students.
  • Be confident in leading a team of teaching assistants.
  • Be able to provide feedback to relevant school staff and parents.
  • Be available full time.
