Are you a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a supportive primary school environment? We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) across primary settings in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area. This role plays a vital part in helping children access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

About the Role

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with ALN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH
  • Offer one-to-one and small-group interventions to support learning and development
  • Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to meet individual learning needs
  • Contribute to an inclusive, nurturing, and safe learning environment

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, caring, and empathetic to individual pupil needs
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs
  • Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different classroom settings
  • A strong team player with good communication skills
  • Experienced in SEN/ALN or primary education (desirable but not essential)

Requirements

Teaching Personnel provides guidance and support in obtaining:

  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • References covering the last two years of employment
