Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within specialist SEN schools in Redhill, Surrey. This role focuses on providing individualised support to a specific student, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and reach their full potential in a supportive and structured environment.

You will be working in welcoming, specialist SEN schools supporting pupils aged 10–18 with needs including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • ADHD and behavioural needs
  • Sensory processing difficulties

These settings provide nurturing, structured support with strong collaboration between staff, therapists, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide focused support tailored to the student’s individual needs, potentially 1:1
  • Adapt and deliver learning activities to suit ability and learning style of students
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Implement personalised education and behaviour plans
  • Build a consistent, trusting relationship with the pupil
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
