Pay: £14.24 – £15.86 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Location: Redbourn, St Albans, Hertfordshire

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN school supporting pupils aged 5–19 with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity within a welcoming and well‑resourced setting, offering ongoing professional development and fully funded training opportunities.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils' learning and development both within the classroom and in community‑based activities.
  • Help students work towards their individual educational and personal targets.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, inclusion, and positive relationships.
  • Provide personal care and physical support where required.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and able to think creatively to meet individual needs.
  • Enjoys practical, outdoor, and community‑based learning experiences.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and a positive team‑focused attitude.
  • Holds GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/Level 4 or above (or an equivalent Level 2 qualification).
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.
