Are you passionate about contributing to the start of children’s Primary School experience? You will need to have a good understanding of the development of children to create a positive impact.

Hours: Full-time 8:30am – 3:30pm

Location: Burnley

Start: October 2025

You will be working as a general teaching assistant working with the Reception pupils supporting and guiding them where needed.

Your responsibilities:

– Have a calm and nurturing approach so that relationships can be developed.

– Support children during the transition period so that they are ready for school.

– Provide one-on-one and small group support to students e.g. Phonics sessions and interventions.

– Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparations.

– Support all students, including those with additional needs so that inclusion is promoted.

– Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.

– Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

Your requirements:

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members

– Good understanding of the EYFS curriculum

– Relevant experience working with children, within a school setting.

– Enhanced DBS on the update service.

– Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

– Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.

– Excellent understanding of safeguarding practices.
