We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to provide general classroom cover in a Year 5 setting at a welcoming primary school in Middlesbrough. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils’ learning and work as part of a supportive school team.

Location: Middlesbrough

Position: Primary Teaching Assistant – Year 5 (General Cover)

Start Date: Ongoing / End of January

  • Support the class teacher in a Year 5 classroom
  • Provide general classroom cover and assist with day-to-day learning activities
  • Support pupils both individually and in small groups
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
  • Assist with classroom preparation and behaviour support

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a primary school setting (preferred)
  • Confidence supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5
  • A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Middlesbrough, supporting a Year 5 class on a general cover basis. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
