Primary Supply Teacher – Taunton
Teaching Personnel is recruiting Primary Supply Teachers to work in schools across Taunton and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for qualified teachers who enjoy working across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils with a range of abilities. You will take responsibility for delivering high-quality teaching, ensuring pupils can access the curriculum and make progress.
Role details
Role: Primary Supply Teacher
Salary: £25,350 – £29,280 per year (pro-rata for part-time)
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time or part-time, term-time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm
No planning or preparation required – you will follow existing lesson plans
The role includes
• Delivering lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 following existing plans and schemes of work
• Supporting whole-class teaching as well as 1:1 or small-group interventions when needed
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive, engaging learning environment
• Promoting pupil engagement, confidence, and personal development throughout the school day
• Supervising pupils during transitions, break times, and unstructured periods
• Encouraging independence, teamwork, and active participation in all learning activities
• Collaborating closely with class teachers, teaching assistants, and other school staff to ensure continuity and consistency of learning
We are looking for candidates who
• Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) (essential)
• Are confident teaching across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 year groups
• Are calm, resilient, and adaptable
• Have strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills
• Are passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential
