Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a passion for helping every child reach their full potential? We’re looking for a number of dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils in primary schools in the St Austell area. These roles are ideal for professionals who are patient, proactive, and committed to making a real difference in a child’s educational journey.
Your Role Will Include:
- Providing individualised support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their learning and emotional needs are met
- Assisting with classroom activities, interventions, and tailored learning plans
- Supporting pupils with communication, social skills, and behaviour management strategies
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Helping create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families to promote progress and wellbeing
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (particularly in a primary setting)
- Knowledge of strategies for autism, ADHD, speech and language, or social/emotional needs
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
