Lunchtime Welfare Assistant – Blackburn (Primary School)

Start Date: September 2025

Hours: 2 hours per day (Monday to Friday) 11.30am- 13.30pm

Location: Blackburn

Salary: Competitive hourly rate

We are looking for a caring and reliable Lunchtime Welfare Assistant to join our team at a welcoming primary school in Blackburn, starting September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising children during the lunchtime period, both in the dining hall and playground
  • Encouraging safe and positive play
  • Supporting children with their meals
  • Promoting good behaviour and reporting any concerns to senior staff

Requirements:

  • A kind and patient attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and can contribute to creating a safe, happy, and inclusive school environment. Full training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
