We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and supportive Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join our lovely school community near Garstang. This role is Monday to Friday, working 7:30am–1:30pm, starting 23rd February 2026, for a fixed term of 12 months, with the view to transferring onto a school contract.

About the Role

  • Act as the main Teaching Assistant within a Year 5 classroom for the mornings
  • Support and help deliver the school’s Breakfast Club provision each morning (7:30am start)
  • Provide high-quality classroom support to enhance teaching and learning
  • Support pupils individually and in small groups, including targeted interventions
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and well-structured learning environment
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to support pupil progress and attainment

  • Has experience working with children in KS2 (Year 5 experience desirable)
  • Is reliable, organised and confident in supporting early-morning provision

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks in line with safer recruitment practices. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
