Design & Technology (DT) Teacher

Location: Preston

Contract: Full‑time

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: From £170 per day (Dependant on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach a range of DT specialisms such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering or Graphics
  • Encourage creativity, innovation and practical skill development
  • Prepare students for exams and coursework assessments
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs or design projects
  • Maintain a safe and well‑organised workshop/classroom environment

The Ideal candidate will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Have strong subject knowledge across Design & Technology
  • Be creative, practical and passionate about STEM education
  • Have excellent classroom management skills
  • Be committed to raising achievement and supporting all learners
  • Be willing to contribute to wider school life
