Year 5 Teacher (12-Month Contract – Planned Absence Cover)

Position: Full-Time Primary Teacher (Year 5 – KS2)

A welcoming and well-respected faith Primary School in Preston is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is to cover a planned staff absence for 12 months, offering the opportunity to become fully embedded in school life and make a meaningful impact within our community.

About the Role

As our new Year 5 Teacher, you will lead a vibrant and inquisitive cohort of learners as they prepare for the transition into upper KS2. You will deliver creative, engaging, and well-structured lessons that stretch pupils academically while supporting their personal, social, and spiritual growth. You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of learning and behaviour, fostering a classroom culture rooted in the school’s values and ethos. Working closely with a highly experienced full-time Teaching Assistant and a supportive senior leadership team, you will be encouraged to share ideas, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to whole-school life.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5, is desirable but not essential.
  • ECTs and fully inducted teachers are warmly encouraged to apply.
