We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to work with primary-aged pupils at EYFS level in a specialist setting in the Preston area. This agency role offers a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, providing the chance to build long-term relationships with pupils and staff while gaining valuable experience in a supportive SEN environment. The successful SEN Teacher will be working with children who have a range of additional needs, including autism and communication difficulties. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, structured lessons tailored to individual learning needs, supporting early development in communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering EYFS-focused lessons adapted for SEN learners
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals
- Monitoring progress and contributing to individual learning plans
- Supporting pupils with personal, emotional, and behavioural needs
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (ECTS considered)
- Have experience working with SEN pupils, particularly at EYFS or primary level
- Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and a child-centred approach
- Be confident managing a classroom with complex needs
- Be committed to progressing into a permanent role
