We are currently recruiting an Educational Healthcare Assistant to work on a temporary agency basis within a specialist SEN school in Preston. This role involves supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including complex learning difficulties, physical needs, and associated health requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils throughout the school day
  • Assisting students with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks where required
  • Supporting pupils with medical and healthcare needs in line with care plans and training
  • Promoting independence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting learning activities under the direction of teaching staff
  • Following EHCPs
  • Maintaining a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
  • Recording and reporting observations in line with school and safeguarding procedures

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in SEN, healthcare, education, or care-based settings
  • A patient, compassionate, and reliable approach
  • Confidence supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

This is a temporary agency position offering flexible working opportunities within a supportive SEN setting. The role is well suited to individuals with experience as a care assistant, support worker, HCA, or those looking to develop their career in SEN education or healthcare. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
