About the Roles
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting SEN Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Support Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools throughout Portsmouth and Hampshire. These roles support children and young people with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex needs.
Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants: £13.75 per hour
Qualified Teachers: Paid to scale
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assist with learning activities and emotional regulation
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
- Support behaviour management strategies
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and school staff
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH (education, care, youth work, or support settings)
- QTS required for teaching roles
- Teaching Assistant or support experience desirable (training can be provided)
- Calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
