Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of English to join a thriving secondary school in Bournemouth for an immediate start. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious English specialist with strong leadership skills to make a significant impact within a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the English department, driving attainment and progress across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable), and supporting the continued development of high-quality teaching and learning.

Qualifications

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have previous experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate leadership experience or the ability to lead a department effectively
  • Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Be passionate about raising standards and student achievement
  • Be available for an immediate start
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Right to work in the UK
