We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school based in Bamber Bridge, PR5 on an agency basis, with the opportunity to become permanent. This role involves supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex needs, and physical or medical needs. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide high-quality, person-centred support that enables pupils to access learning and daily activities safely and confidently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting communication and sensory activities.
- Assisting with personal care and mobility where required.
- Following individual EHCPs.
- Helping to create a calm, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
Qualifications
You will play a vital role in promoting independence, engagement, and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have experience working with PMLD or complex needs, a patient and empathetic approach, and a strong understanding of inclusive and supportive practice. Experience with personal care, moving and handling, or medical needs is desirable, though training can be provided.
Position Details and Benefits
This is an agency position with a clear temp-to-perm pathway for the right candidate, offering the chance to build long-term relationships within a supportive and specialist setting. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
