PMLD Teaching Assistants needed!

Teaching Personnel are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist Setting in Preston. We have Adhoc, Temp to Perm, Full-time and Part-time opportunities for the right candidates. You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), PMLD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, working closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
  • Support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Assist with personal care where required
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and EHCPS
  • Promote positive relationships and inclusion within the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and SENCOs

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth work backgrounds welcomed)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to support challenging behaviour when required
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
