PMLD Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary special educational needs setting supporting children with PMLD. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, with a flexible start date to suit the right candidate. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans

  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Encouraging engagement, independence and social development

  • Working collaboratively with teaching and therapy staff

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary setting

  • Be patient, resilient and caring

  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be adaptable and committed to supporting individual needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
