What the role involves
- Helping teachers create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and using calm, effective de‑escalation techniques when needed.
- Working in smaller class groups (typically 5-8 pupils) and occasionally supporting on a 1:1 basis.
- Assisting learners with communication barriers and working collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Bringing enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude to contribute to a happy and healthy school culture.

What you'll need
- A bachelor's degree in psychology or a Social Science discipline
- An Enhanced DBS (we can guide you through this).
- Registration with the EWC (we can help with this too).
- No teaching qualifications required.
- Previous SEN experience is beneficial but not essential. Enthusiasm, empathy and a willingness to learn are key.
- Ability to remain calm, patient and compassionate in high‑pressure or emotional situations.
