We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the learning, confidence and wellbeing of pupils who require additional support.
The Role
- You will work closely with teachers, the ALNCo and other professionals to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
- Learning and developmental delays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with ALN, helping them to access learning
- Assist in implementing Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
- Support behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists
- Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience supporting children with additional learning needs (desirable)
- Is patient, calm and compassionate
- Has good communication and teamwork skills
- Can build positive relationships with pupils
- Is adaptable, proactive and reliable
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check
