We are currently recruiting committed and resilient Pastoral Support and Behaviour Support staff to work in secondary schools across the Tameside and Gorton areas from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping students overcome barriers to learning, behaviour, attendance, and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs across KS3 and KS4
- Work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding teams, SENCOs, and teaching staff
- Deliver one-to-one mentoring and small-group intervention sessions
- Support students who may be at risk of exclusion, poor attendance, or disengagement from education
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and wellbeing
- Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive school environment
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working with secondary-aged students
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a professional manner
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Experience Areas

Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
