We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within Key Stage 1, supporting pupils at a crucial stage in their learning journey as they transition from the Early Years into the National Curriculum. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver engaging, inclusive and well-structured lessons that promote both academic progress and personal development.

Location: Nelson

Contract: Part-time: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Salary: £130 - £150 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Year 1 National Curriculum
  • Support pupils’ development in phonics, early reading, writing and maths
  • Create an engaging, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to planning and review
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, the Year 1 team and senior leaders
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers as required
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of phonics and early years pedagogy
  • Be reflective, organised and committed to high standards
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Show flexibility and a positive team-focused approach
