This role involves supporting young people aged 16+ with Special Educational Needs, including autism, to develop life skills, independence, and functional learning skills. You will work within a small, supportive setting delivering a highly personalised curriculum that prioritises communication, emotional regulation, independence, and real-world learning.
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support learners to develop life skills, independence, and functional skills
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet sensory, communication, and behavioural needs
- Foster a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
- Track progress and contribute to individual learning plans
We are looking for a teacher who is:
- Qualified (QTS/QTLS preferred, but experienced unqualified teachers may be considered)
- Experienced in SEN, autism, or complex needs
- Confident supporting older learners (16+) with developmental and life-skills-based learning
- Patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
- Comfortable delivering a curriculum focused on life skills rather than traditional academics
