What does the role involve?
- You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that align with school expectations and the EYFS/KS1 curriculum, stepping in for both planned and last-minute absences.
- You’ll need to manage the classroom confidently, create a positive learning atmosphere and adapt quickly to a mix of subjects, year groups and teaching approaches.
- Day-to-day cover often involves following pre-prepared lesson plans, though you may occasionally need to use your initiative to plan and deliver your own content.
- Ensuring strong behaviour management, supporting pupils' academic and emotional development and maintaining communication with school staff are key parts of the role.
- Flexibility is essential, as work may be pre-booked or arise from early morning calls.
What are we looking for?
- We are seeking teachers with QTS (or equivalent) and experience working across EYFS and KS1.
- Confidence delivering phonics is desirable but not required.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive, adaptable attitude, effective behaviour management skills and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
- You must also hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
