Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in the Tameside area. This role is ideal for someone who is committed, proactive and eager to make a genuine difference to children's academic progress and self-confidence. The placement will begin on a short-term basis, with strong potential for long-term extension for candidates who demonstrate impact and seamlessly integrate into the school community. The specific year group will be confirmed based on your strengths and the needs of the school.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with class teachers to enhance teaching and learning, helping to create an inclusive, supportive environment for all pupils (including children with SEN).
- Support the delivery of engaging, curriculum-based lessons by reinforcing key concepts and assisting pupils with class tasks.
- Lead focused one-to-one or small-group interventions to promote academic development and boost pupil confidence.
- Contribute to lesson planning by suggesting activities, monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records in line with school policies.
- Encourage positive behaviour by upholding the school's behaviour expectations and promoting respectful, constructive choices.
- Follow all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and child protection.
What We're Looking For
- A relevant Level 3 qualification, such as Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare.
- Experience working with children in classroom or small-group settings (experience across multiple year groups is desirable but not essential).
- A calm, compassionate and reliable approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Resilience, adaptability and a commitment to supporting pupils' individual needs.
- A DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
