Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a secure residential education setting in the Stannington, Morpeth area (Northumberland) to recruit an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is a challenging and rewarding role supporting young people with complex needs in a secure learning environment.
About the Role:
- Deliver learning activities to individuals and small groups, following lesson plans and adapting content to meet learners’ needs
- Provide targeted support to young people with SEND, SEMH, trauma-related behaviours, and additional learning needs
- Support the assessment of progress, recording outcomes, and feeding back to teaching staff
- Assist with personal care duties where required, maintaining dignity, safety, and safeguarding standards
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement within a secure setting
- Work closely with teachers, care staff, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure consistent support
- Act as a positive role model and support learners’ academic, social, and emotional development
