An exciting opportunity has arisen for ambitious, self-motivated Teaching Assistants to join a specialist alternative education provision for children aged 5–11. This setting supports pupils whose needs cannot be met within a mainstream environment, particularly those with social, emotional and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated team of teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality, bespoke learning packages that enable pupils to thrive both academically and socially.

About the Role

The Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and personal development. Responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners in classroom-based lessons and through outdoor and practical activities
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and supporting the delivery of learning objectives
  • Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development using appropriate assessment tools
  • Producing daily reports on pupil progress and identifying barriers to learning
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, senior leaders and other professionals
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Actively contributing to safeguarding and welfare procedures
