About the Role

As a HLTA, you’ll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning – delivering interventions, covering lessons, and helping to raise attainment across Key Stage 3 & 4. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to support pupils both in groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned lessons in the teacher’s absence
  • Lead small group interventions across core subjects
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN and EAL
  • Contribute to planning and assessment alongside teachers

Requirements

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Confident leading whole-class learning when required
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
