Overview
We are looking for a passionate and committed Core Subject Tutor to support primary and secondary students in the NE24 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by delivering 1:1 personalised tuition and helping learners build confidence, close learning gaps, and achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions in English and Maths (Science desirable at secondary level)
- Adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs and abilities
- Support pupils in building confidence and improving academic performance
- Track progress and provide clear feedback
- Use creative approaches to keep learners motivated and engaged
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students
Qualifications
- Experience tutoring or teaching primary and/or secondary students
- Strong understanding of English and Maths curriculum
- Ability to engage and inspire young learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, flexible, and supportive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- QTS / PGCE / Teaching qualification
- Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, or low-attaining learners
- Experience delivering 1:1 or intervention-based tutoring
