This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive secondary school in Newport, working within a strong and well-established Maths department.
The school is seeking a confident and motivated Maths graduate to deliver pre-planned Maths lessons to pupils in Years 7-9, supporting learning, managing behaviour, and developing the skills needed for a future career in teaching.
The Role:- Deliver pre-prepared Maths lessons planned by the Head of Maths.
- Teach Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9 only).
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- Gain invaluable classroom experience ahead of teacher training.
- Secondary school located in Newport.
- Highly supportive Maths department.
- Clear behaviour systems and strong leadership.
- Excellent setting for graduates new to the classroom.
- Ongoing guidance and mentoring available.
- Holds (or is working towards) a degree in Maths or a related subject.
- Strong Maths knowledge at A-Level or degree level.
