Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Contract: September Start – End of Academic Year (Immediate start for the right applicant)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a confident and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision Base within a secondary school setting. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and re-engage with education. The provision supports students who may experience behavioural difficulties, SEMH needs, or barriers that impact their learning within a mainstream classroom environment. Working within a smaller, supportive setting, you will play an important role in helping students develop confidence, emotional resilience, and positive learning behaviours.

About the Position

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will support students throughout the school day by providing encouragement, structure, and consistency. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to help students access learning, manage behaviour positively, and build stronger relationships within school. The role involves:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small intervention groups
  • Helping students remain engaged during lessons and activities
  • Encouraging positive communication and social interaction
  • Contributing to a safe and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

Candidate Requirements

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • EWC registration (support provided if required)
  • Two professional references covering a 24-month period
  • Completion of a Level 2 Safeguarding course during onboarding
  • To be over the age of 18
