Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Behaviour & Learning Support Assistant to work within a specialist SEN provision attached to a secondary school in the Newport area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils aged 11–16 who may have additional learning needs, autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, or behavioural challenges.
Every day is different. You'll play a key role in helping students build confidence, develop positive relationships, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role
As a Behaviour & Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Help students remain engaged and focused during lessons
- Build positive and trusting relationships with learners
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
- Encourage confidence, independence, and resilience
- Support teachers in delivering engaging learning activities
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SEN professionals

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals
- Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- EWC Registration (or willingness to register)
- Two professional references covering the last 24 months
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Full training and support will be provided throughout the registration process.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
