Teaching Personnel is looking to support Newly Qualified Teachers with the next stages in their educational journey. As you approach the last stages of your PGCE course, Teaching Personnel is on hand to support you with finding both short- and long-term positions to enrich and develop your teaching experience.

Gaining more classroom experience after your placements are complete will continue to improve and develop your skills like behaviour management, classroom control and educating students of various backgrounds, abilities and environments compared to what you may have experienced on your placements. Schools recognise that NQTs have been through an incredibly unique and distinct experience during COVID and adapting their education to match the ever-changing requirements within schools and classes.

The disruption in schools is still evident to see and this will have impacted on the placements; therefore, schools are looking to support this by assisting NQTs with consistent short-term supply work alongside the opportunity to be considered for long-term roles too.

Newly Qualified Teacher Duties:
  • Pre-plan, prepare and teach lessons that accommodate students of all abilities
  • Assess students' learning through homework and parents' evenings
  • Create a positive learning environment
  • Keep up to date with changes and developments in line with the national and school curriculums
  • Enhanced support available for NQTs due to placements being cut short
