We’re looking for a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor to join a friendly and supportive secondary school team in Newcastle. This role is perfect for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with experience working with young people.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes in the absence of the regular teacher
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support students with their learning and ensure work is completed
- Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of the lesson
No formal teaching qualification is required, just strong communication skills, confidence in leading a classroom and the ability to build rapport with students.
Qualifications
- UK experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, etc.)
- Strong classroom presence and good behaviour management
- A positive, proactive attitude
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Commitment to supporting students' learning and wellbeing
- No PGCE/QTS required
- Degree or Level 5+ qualification required
