Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistants to work in secondary schools across Newcastle upon Tyne. Whether you are a recent graduate looking to gain classroom experience, someone considering a future in teaching, or an experienced Teaching Assistant seeking a fresh opportunity, this role offers the chance to make a genuine difference in young people’s education.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting students aged 11–16 both academically and emotionally within the classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons
  • Assisting with classroom and behaviour management
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Helping students stay focused, motivated, and confident in their learning
  • Encouraging positive participation and promoting an inclusive learning environment

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Passionate about education and supporting young people
  • Patient, adaptable, and confident communicators
  • Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, but not essential
