Salary: £92.63–£105 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills, gain invaluable experience supporting children with additional needs, and make a genuine impact in the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with varying learning needs
  • Building positive and trusting relationships to improve engagement, confidence, and wellbeing
  • Supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Assisting teachers in delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning strategies
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students overcome barriers to learning
  • Monitoring student progress and communicating effectively with teachers and school staff
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every child can succeed

Qualifications

  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • The ability to build strong relationships and adapt to different school environments
  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
