Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and motivated Psychology Graduate to join a secondary school in Newcastle and Northumberland as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. This full-time position begins in March and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role depending on performance.
About the Role: As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. This position is particularly well-suited for graduates with a background in psychology who are interested in pursuing a career in education, mental health, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with diverse needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons by adapting materials and strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Observe and support students' progress, identifying areas where additional assistance may be required.
- Use psychological principles to help students develop positive coping mechanisms, resilience, and confidence.
