We are recruiting a committed and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11–16 within a specialist alternative provision setting. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be joining a highly regarded specialist provision known for its:

  • Inclusive, trauma-informed approach to learning
  • Strong focus on re-engagement, wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Small class sizes and tailored learning programmes

Students present with a range of needs, including:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Behavioural challenges linked to trauma or anxiety
  • Disengagement from mainstream education
  • Additional needs such as ADHD and communication difficulties

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement
  • Assist with learning activities and alternative curricula
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students

Requirements

  • Experience in SEMH or alternative provision is highly desirable
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the school’s location
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
