We are recruiting a committed and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11–16 within a specialist alternative provision setting. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
You will be joining a highly regarded specialist provision known for its:
- Inclusive, trauma-informed approach to learning
- Strong focus on re-engagement, wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Small class sizes and tailored learning programmes
- A supportive, experienced team that prioritises consistency and relationships
Students present with a range of needs, including:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Behavioural challenges linked to trauma or anxiety
- Disengagement from mainstream education
- Additional needs such as ADHD and communication difficulties
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement
- Assist with learning activities and alternative curricula
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students
Requirements
- Experience in SEMH or alternative provision is highly desirable
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the school’s location
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
