Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel is working with welcoming primary schools in Lancaster and Morecambe seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams this January.

You’ll provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH challenges, helping them thrive academically and socially. These roles require a patient, compassionate, and proactive approach, as well as the ability to adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs.

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and group interventions for pupils with SEN/SEMH.
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs and IEPs.
  • Use strategies such as PECS for communication where needed.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to create an inclusive environment.
  • Assist with behaviour management and classroom support.

Experience supporting children with SEN and/or SEMH needs.

Knowledge of EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour strategies.

Calm, compassionate approach with strong interpersonal skills.

Based locally in Lancaster or Morecambe (or able to commute).

Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Competitive pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour.
