Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class in a welcoming primary school in the Morecambe area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with young learners at a key stage in their development, supporting them with early literacy, numeracy, and social skills in a nurturing classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for Year 1 pupils
- Assist with phonics sessions
- Help pupils develop early reading, writing, and maths skills
- Promote positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Prepare classroom resources and support learning activities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience working with children (preferably within KS1 or Year 1)
- Knowledge of phonics and early learning strategies (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent – desirable)
- Right to work in the UK
- References covering the last 2 years
