Teaching Personnel is recruiting an English Teacher to join a secondary school in Monmouth on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to inspire pupils and develop their confidence in reading, writing, communication and analysis. Applications are welcomed from experienced English Teachers, Early Career Teachers and teachers returning to the profession.
The role
As an English Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Support pupils preparing for assessments and GCSE examinations.
Encourage pupils to develop their reading, writing and analytical skills.
Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
Adapt lessons to meet different learning needs and abilities.
Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
Contribute to the wider work of the English department.
What we are looking for
The successful English Teacher will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have experience teaching English within a secondary school.
Have strong subject and curriculum knowledge across English Language and Literature.
Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour-management skills.
Be reliable, adaptable and committed to pupil progress.
Be available for a full-time, long-term position from September 2026.
