We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join a Good school in Milton Keynes on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis for the entire 2026/27 academic year, starting in October 2026. The successful candidate will teach Sociology at GCSE and A‑Level and will also undertake pastoral responsibilities. Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers who are passionate about delivering high‑quality lessons and inspiring students to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality Sociology lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5, preparing students for GCSE and A‑Level examinations.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Provide effective pastoral support, promoting students’ wellbeing and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the curriculum and share best practice.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings and wider school activities.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and academic achievement.

Qualifications

  • Ability to teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5.
  • A degree in Sociology or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning.
